Fifty fathoms - finding the gear

    Hey all,

I think I may take the plunge and buy that crazy expensive fifty fathoms x71 bracelet. I own a bathyscaphe as well and wanted something different than sailcloth.

I considered the rubber as well but it seems like the rubber strap and tools are as hard to find as the x71.

Anyone have thoughts on where I could get either?

All I can say is that is a great problem to have! I don’t think you can really go wrong with that one...

The X-71 bracelet is expensive but very beautiful and comfortable. Well worth it IMO.

You mention you have the Bathyscaphe - does the X71 bracelet fit on that?

I don’t know but assume no. They have a different one. The x70. Very different look.

Good to know I’ve been worried that without micro adjustment it might be uncomfortable also it seems a pain to switch links around. But it looks cool

Not sure of the newer X-71, but in my older X-71, the lack of micro adjustment is my only gripe. But it comes with 2 half-links (at least for mine) and I believe you can purchase additional half-links through your AD. I usually don't encounter much problems with wearing my FF as for Summer I usually switch out to Tropic or my Hirsch Arne waterproof straps.

How do you find switching straps? I hear the screws are a pain?
