Additionally, I am gearing up for a beach vacation (long over due) and will be taking both my GSAR and a G-shock GS1100. As a new GSAR owner, I am curious if the watch is safe for beach wear? Certainly water resistance is not the issue but rather I am concerned over exposure to sand. Should I keep the GSAR packed away on beach days in lue of the G-shock? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

    Best regards!
The nice thing about a GSAR on a NATO or a Zulu is that in case a springbar lets go, you still have your watch on your wrist. Marathon springbars are very rugged, but a NATO or Zulu can save your watch, if one did fail.

Sand is not an issue, but rinse your watch off with fresh water at the end of the day.

By the way, the OEM rubber straps are nice, I have 2 stashed away. Not a thing wrong with them, but if I'm going into the surf, it'll be on the NATO just to be on the safe side.

    Best Regards,

I have my TSAR on a Ted SU Kevlar, but it is really too big for the watch. I have a Marathon Bracelet on the way.

    Re: GSAR Band

I have worn mine with the original rubber band, the Maratac deployment silicon rubber band and the Marathon bracelet. The bracelet is nice, but they all work just fine.

    Re: GSAR Band

I wear the TSAR that I got from Ian on the bracelet it came with. I'm more of a bracelet guy, and I love the Marathon I don't plan on wearing it any other way.

    Re: GSAR Band

I wear my GSAR on a Maratec rubber deployment band and my TSAR on a Zulu strap. I need to get another Maratec though since I accidentally cut off too much (even though I measured twice and cut once!) and it's nearly cutting off my circulation every time I wear it and do something active. Maybe measure thrice cut once...
