Looking for my first dive watch under $1,000

Hello. I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some guidance. I'm looking for a dive watch with the following:
    • black face
    • date window (prefer 3 o'clock)
    • metal band
    • automatic
    • lug to lug 50mm or less

I typically dress business casual so I want it to be that mix between dress and sport. The Oris Aquis is recommended a lot, but my boss has one so a good alternative to that is preferred. I don't want to get my nose too brown :).

Some of the ones I like so far are.... (based on looks and price)
    • Christopher Ward C60
    • Seiko SDC051
    • Mido Sea Star

The CW C60 you mentioned is really a nice option in this price range.

The 3 you listed are all very good options. I would go with CW among the 3. If you are willing to buy used, you can also find Sinn 104 around $1k. I will take Sinn 104 over those 3.

Seiko SRP637 Baby Tuna, with a Strapcode Engineer bracelet....wayyyy under $1000, like half

But, you’re not really gonna stop at ONE dive watch, are you??!

As one starts on down the f71 and micro diver rabbit hole, IMO a CW Trident Pro really is a great place to start

(Especially since you mentioned the glossy Aquis.)

As someone who has owned higher end pieces it is hard to beat the Christopher Ward value and specs proposition. They are a great watch. The new C60 Elite 1000 will be my next purchase as I sold my black bay recently and have a hole in my dive watch spot.

The C.Ward, Steinhart, Sinn, Oris all have better movements than the Mido.
