Question Need help fixing a vintage Aquastar BenthosI

I sent my vintage Aquastar Benthos I to my watchmaker. He is struggling tring to find parts (mindspring, etc.) and may be service manual of the watch. Does anyone has some lead on the parts or expert watchmaker who know this watch??

Thats the problem buying vintage watches . Parts can be a problem. If you cant fix the wtach you have a an expensive paper weight. (I know I have a few).

Good luck finding parts for that watch. Its a beauty.

I would ask your watchmaker to identify the base movement used in the watch. It is unlikely that it's proprietary. That makes it easier to order a mainspring, but he can also measure the old mainspring or if he doesn't feel comfortable doing that, he can send the old mainspring to a supplier such as Otto Frei, Wm. McCaw, etc., for a replacement.

You will probably get better answers in the watchmaking forum.

The movement is a Lemania, as this watch was also sold under Lemania's own brand, but I don't remember which calibre.

The Vintage Watch Forum is probably the best venue to ask this question.

    Good luck!

Mee: the parts for older valjoux and lemania movements are available....

I had work done on several last year, as I sold off the collection. The trick is to find a watchmaker with good experience with swiss movements: they'll know where to source the parts.

That's a great looking watch, looks brand new!
Hope you get it squared away!
