    Richard LeGrand Atlanticus

Just got a newsletter with this guy

Looks interesting and at $219 is kind of tempting

    42mm
    12.5 thick
    48mm length
    22mm lugs
    200m
    $219

I never tried either of their first oddysea offerings but they seemed a good value and I think folks liked them for the price.

Also seems they are rebranding to “RLG”

I’m curious if it would wear a bit tall and chunky but specs seem relatively compact.

Is it the same case as the spinikers or Dan Henry?

According to their email it is only 10.5mm thick without the crystal, which is pretty thin, especially for an NH35 powered watch. It does look rather slab sided, but I still think it would wear pretty well.

Overall at $220 it seems like it is a very good value. 42mm is still larger than I like to go, but I imagine they will have no problem moving volume.

I also like the RLG rebranding. Someone pointed out that a Knick are for Richard is Dick, and LeGrand is Spanish for “the big”. I don’t know if i could stare down that name on my watch after having that pointed out to me.

At $219 I would have to give it a shot. The renders look good, hopefully prototype lives up to the expectations. What’s the movement?

Thanks for the heads up. I recently sold my SRP777 and instantly regretted it because it was my dedicated beater. I was actually considering re-buying the SRP but might check this out.

The only thing holding me back was the "Big Dick" branding, which they've somewhat addressed by moving to initials. Re: the comment above, "le grand" is French not Spanish but yes, the point remains.

    Re: Richard LeGrand Atlanticus

I like the sloped applied indices.

I always like internal bezels, though in reality I rarely use them because they can be hard to manipulate on the wrist.

The strap I reckon will be the weak point, but at $220 I’m not sure one can complain.

Hopefully someone can chime in with some personal experience on earlier models and their quality.

While I would have preferred 40/41 the 42 is probably good with the 48mm length.

Doesn’t appear the bezel is lumed which is too bad.
