Seiko 6309, experts please chime in

So I was shooting the breeze with my watchmaker today and I see somthing out of the corner of my eye. What??????? I ask, is that a 6903 I see. Apparently so, he tells me he has two more. One is in very good condition he says. I proceeded to tell him that he couldn't tell me that and not offer to sell me one. I told him to keep the good one and let me have a crack at one of the other two. He agreed and said to figure out a fair price and he'd let one go. So, this one is a little beat but it has a good story behind it, apparently it's last owner was a navy seal....kinda cool. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the watch is original except I don't know about the hands......they look rounded a bit but the patina doesn't match perfect. I took a crappy cell shot so what's the verdict? Original hands or nay?

Sorry, but there's no way those are the original hands. Also, that's not the original rubber strap.

Thanks, I thought the hands were replaced and I know the straps new, which doesn't bother me one bit. I am going to still check out the other one he has but I still like this one for some reason. The bezel actually turns pretty well and solid for an old beat up diver.

    That's because it's a seiko.
Next time you go in, check the serial and figure out the year of it

Thanks for the input. Yours def. Are more finished and look waaaay more refined than the ones on my pic. I just did some light research on this and have learned a bit! I still like this one in all of its beaten glory, it runs and has been serviced so if the price is right i still may go for it.

First number is the year, second is the month. For future reference... October = 0, November = N, December = D

If the price is right, still a wonderful watch! I don't think replacement hands devalue the watch all that much. They can always be replaced with those more correct.
