    Workhorse bronze watches

Looking through a recent (9300+ replies) on bronze divers, and I'm wondering what is available in the $300-$500 range for a bronze driver.

As per usual I have found (invented) a new hole in my collection.

    Prefer automatics, 40-42mm
    DOERS, DRIFTERS, LIFTERS, PUNKS

Zelos has some in that price range.

If you’re wanting to dip your toe in the bronze pool the Steinhart Ocean 1 bronze is a very good place to start.

The Christopher Ward one just above is a nice one, but I don't think you can get it for $500, and it is 43mm (there is a 39mm version also)

I did miss the $500 limit, apologies. They do usually run 15% off sales frequently though.

I recently bought one off their 30% off "nearly new" sale. Aside from the patina being the work of a few months, I could not tell it was not new. The price was low $600 range because I forgot that it's better to go through the UK site and pay in UKP. Had I done so, it would have been around $550. That's still over the cap of course, but not by a lot.

I did the same, think it turned out to be USD 637.00.

This is my 4th bronzer (Steinhart, Gruppo Gamma Vanguard, Gruppo Gamma Peacemaker) and easily the nicest one.

It also develops a nice patina faster than the other three. It might be a keeper.
