    Question PAM 024 vs 1024

I compared the models via info online. I can't seem to notice any differences.

Does anyone of any aside from the production years?

    Thanks.

The only difference resides in the movements. 024 is equipped whith OP.III and 1024 with OP.XXX. Both calibers are based on a stripped Valjoux/ETA 7750 (ETA 7750 is a movement with chronograph fonction). OP.III has 21 jewels and 40 hours PR, and OP.XXX has 25 jewels and 50 hours PR. I hope it helped.

    Thanks.

I bought the 1024 last year and absolutely love it.

    The only 2 difrerences are:

    * The change in calibre (but I can confirm the watch timing is excellent)
    * The rubber strap has a tang buckle instead of a clasp

Thoughts on either of these as a first PAM?

    Thanks

I use to hate the knobby bezel but have grown to like them.

    Re: PAM 024 vs 1024

When i bought my 1st PAM (around 4 years ago) ... I was torn between the PAM 24 and the PAM 312.
I ummed and arrrd between the two and eventually settled on the 312 as it was a sandwich dial and had the 1950 case, so it felt the most "Panerai"
After a couple of years I realised I was not wearing the watch a lot and it was down to an issue mentioned by some owners - how the watch wears - very top heavy.
I think my wrist was on the limit of the 312 and 2 years on I still loved the PAM 24 and knew it felt better on my wrist too.
I also prefer the submersible look - it's a little more casual & mean looking than the dressier 312.
So I sold on my 312 and bought the 1024 and haven't looked back.
It's an amazing watch and thoroughly enjoy wearing it and I can totally recommend it as a 1st Panerai for sure. It has amazing wrist presence too.
