    PAM OP6746

    Hi everyone,

I am thinking about purchasing my first Panerai because i have fallen in love with their case shape, history and sheer aesthetics. I have been reading about there different models lately I just think it's about time i embraced the whole Panerai world! I would like to start with a Marina. However, i don't know the first thing about Panerai watches as I have never owned one. There is one in particular I quite like the look of. Can you guys advise if this watch is genuine. It's been marketed as an OP6746.

    Cheers!

Dear Mr. Horologist007, I would just like to say thank you for you assistance, as always. You have helped me and my some of my friends on several occasions with your specialist advice. A big salute to you sir! :)

On this occasion, can you tell me the tell tale signs? Pardon my ignorance, I have never owned a Panerai

Do a quick google search for "OP6747" and see what comes up...

But seriously, if the seller can't even be bothered to clean the grime off the crystal, case and crown guard before taking photos, is that really someone you want to buy a watch from? Fake or not, the condition of the watch would send me running the other direction.

the dirt makes it look more authentic... just kidding.
agree with you on that. for someone selling a $$$$ watch. he better make it a little more attractive for a grab.

a little advise for the first time buyer.
you should always buy the seller. beside the boutiques and ADs. there are lots of reputable/trusted grey dealers selling used for a discount .
take your time and shop around. in the end. this is an expensive item. it's not like buying a pair of $50 Jeans that you can afford to lose.

Looks fake to me as well, lots and lots of them around unfortunately.

Buy from a trusted source as Tony says.

That movement looks really bad. No need to be an expert to recognize it as a fake
