    SIHH 2020 What’s coming up??

So we are in 2020 and a new decade.

What are your theories for what Jean-Marc will introduce this year??

2019 was the rebirth of the Submersible as a stand alone line with a raft of new designs, is 2020 going to focus on another sector such as the Luminor or the Rad??

    What are your predictions??

There’s been a rumor going on about luminor year 2020

Probably more carbotech and BMG luminors? And hopefully the rumored 8 days carbotech/titanium 127 come true...it’s been long overdue but I’d like to see bronzo non submersible luminor too

Luminor year, like the sound of that.

    Yes indeed, we can wonder.

JM seems quite innovative in his outlook, so maybe within the confines of the 3/4 models he will experiment with different case materials, and as we all know any Bronzo will sell out immedietly.

2020 is the year of the luminor, as said by the new ceo in an interview last year.

It would be great to see more luminors in new materials - e.g. bronze, carbon with different color accents, and brushed gold!

Also, a 44mm in 1950s case is needed.

But, who knows! Looking forward to seeing what is unveiled.

    As are we all!!

Got to wait a couple more months now as they have moved it to April, so all the journos don’t have to visit expensive hotels in Geneva twice in a year!!

Re: SIHH 2020 What’s coming up??

I was really hoping for a replacement for the 562 and 564 Luminor 44 Titanium models. According to the Manager at the local Boutique, those are not going to be replaced. Looks like the new Titanium might just be the 797, already released, PR Indicator on the front and small seconds at 9. I would really like a clean dial like the 562, with the sandwich dial and, of course 8 Days movement. Often, what we want and what we get are two opposites.

And a non-Submersible bronze, 8 Days. But this is just my wish list, not prediction.

There already have been a number of 45 Radiomir/44 Luminor models released, so it will be interesting what developments will occur. I see the new P.5001 movement on the 796 Destro, with power reserve on the back, and the PAM 915 is really nice, but I can't see why there is no PR Indicator on the back, and same for the 992 Radiomir which I recently acquired. They have changed the P.5000 and made it just one huge bridge covering most of the movement, and I can see why when the PR Indicator is added.

This is the 796 case back, with PR Indicator:

And my bare-ass PAM 992 with updated P.5000 with room to spare for the PR Indicator. My PAM 992 is not an inexpensive watch, I don't know what would be the added cost of a PR Indicator.

Anyway, my speculation is that they will do lots more with the updated P.5000 movement, which also has hacking seconds.

    Cheers,
    Carl

My local AD mentioned that the focus for SIHH this year will be the Luminor line. I would like to see a 42mm 1950s case with domed crystal and manual wind movement!
