    Thought on 87 vs 199

In searching for an 87, I stumbled on a photo of the 199, but have never held one in hand nor tried one on my wrist. They look like they are identical. What should I know? Thanks!

Have an answer! It's in response to my similar post on TZ Officine Panerai. And I was reminded about the 243 to be introduced this year.

Just bought a 87H two month ago. I really like it. Except the bezel and hands, i don't see anything identical.

87 has blue dial with baton marker, HRV, 1000m depth rate, brushed case and thick crystal and case back. Not 100% sure, the crown guard seems to be thicker also.

199 is more closer to 24 and 25 in my opinion.

The blue dial also works well with most of the strap. i don't know why some people has problem with the strap color and blue dial. i use black, DZ light mustard and even clear tan python. they all go well with 87.

    Thanks, KHW

The benefit of your experience and those nice photos help. I am trying for an 87H.

    Mort,

I have seen and held both in my little grubby hands. B-) Now my 2 cents...I like the 199, but I friggin loved the 87. Somethin about that dial grabbed me, and I do love the subs!!! Good luck with your decision!
