The German sector of my collection grows!

Newest German acquisition arrived today - Junghans Meister Telemeter automatic chronograph. I looked into the history of this model, it goes back to the late 1940s when Junghans contracted with the German military services to produce a new chronograph. A black face model was developed. In 1951, the lighter face model was first produced for the general public. This new production is an homage to the original but upgraded.

    Congrats on your newest addition.

WUS member Wouter van Willigen used to own the original one fitted with the legendary Junghans 88 caliber.

Ah yes - the legendary J88 movement. Junghans calls the movement in my new Meister "J880" as an apparent nod to the history. I assume the old J88 was an in-house movement but mine is really an ETA with some mods.

    Yep, the J88 was in-house.
