    Angry No reponse from GPW/Arctos on warranty issue!

    I have a less than 2-yr old Titanium GPW Feld Uhr with a crown that no longer locks down. This is not an expensive watch, having a NH35A movement, but it has proven to be a versatile and tough little field watch with absolutely AMAZING lume. The crown acts as though the threads are stripped, but I am always careful not to overtighten the crown, and have not had this issue with any other watch (and I've owned nearly 50 pieces of all makes and prices). It is far from a daily wearer, as I rotate through a large collection of pieces.

    On May 29th, I sent this email:

    I am having an issue with the crown not locking down on my GPW Feld Uhr, SN F118XXX, which was purchased on 30 Aug 2017. According to the accompanying literature, the watch is covered by a 24-month warrantee. I am very careful with my timepieces, and wear a rotation of over 25 watches, so I'm quite sure it has not been abused. As this is marketed as a sturdy field piece, this crown failure is disappointing, and is the first such failure I have experienced as a current or past owner of at least 40 time peices.

    Please provide instructions on how to obtain a warranty repair.

    I also included a photo of the watch, receipt and warranty card. Since I did not get a response, I called them on Friday 31 May. My information was taken down, and I was told that someone would call me back. Today is mid-day Tuesday, 4 June.

    Am I being impatient, or am I justified in being highly annoyed by this non-responsiveness?

    Another email. Another call in to the service center, and another promise of a call back. Not confidence inspiring.

    Back from Arctos/GPW with functioning crown...in a new box. Pretty quick turnaround from the Tyler, TX service center!
