    Another HAQ

I don't think this has previously been reported here:

Glashütte Uhren von Wempe - Uhren nach deutscher DIN Norm

All models shown, 31 and 38 mm diameter, use the ETA 955.452 which is both TC and has the traditional adjustability (+/-8 SPY), but has no independent hour hand or perpetual calendar.

No idea of the price but I'd guess EXPENSIVE. I did find an online shop selling what looked like the same watch for €850 (s/steel on strap) but these are described as having the ETA 255.111, which is not TC.

I would think expensive and you might not get a TC movement.

The designs don't look that impressive either but the images are so small who can tell.

I have to wonder why so many companies put pathetically small images of their wares on-line, it's not like the extra pixels will cost more have on the web site.

Yes, imagine the conversation in the (UK's only) shop: Is it thermocompensated? What's that? Is it an ETA 955.452 or a 255.111? Uh? Pass me that screwdriver. <sounds of phoning the police>

They have a zoom feature on the image...

Oh wait, it's using Flash. No zoom for you.....

Yes, they are doing everything they can to send me away. Not a crisis; it doesn't look like it'd be available except through their NY showroom, and that's not gonna happen.

Well, i live in Germany and i have a Wempe-Store just 5 kilometres away. Of course i had a look at these Quartz Chronometres. They sport an ETA 955.452 and are quite a bargain at a < €1000,- pricepoint. These Watches are very well made, have a nice look and finish and a discreet, but distinctive presence on the wrist.
You'll have to see them in person in the shop. The pics on the website, well, forget it. I consider the gold-plated one for myself as a dresswatch. Very nice on the wrist!

Here are some pics from a german customer:
