Maybe it's an artifact from the paper dial, but yea it looks like a QC error.

I can't clearly see the brown mark in your image -- the file is very compressed, and the best guess I have is that it looks like a fiber -- but note there are also brown spots in the picture here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/wha...l#post47777077

Incoming!! Will post pictures when it arrives. Hint: Stolen-Gmt-Master won me over with his pictures... but it's coming stock. The bracelet is stupid expensive to order separate.

This or that: Citizen Chronomaster vs... Citizen Chronomaster

I came across this thread a bit late. That's my AQ-4041 (and wrist) in the OP's thread. It's my first HAQ watch, first Citizen, and first "The Citizen" -- and I've been enjoying it immensely since purchasing it a month or so ago. The sunburst effect is quite pronounced under certain lighting, subdued in others. No discernible marks on the clasp, but a few light hairline marks on the bezel, so the watch's duratect coating is fairly robust since I have not been babying the watch. I wasn't sure I'd like the bracelet because I'm more of a fan of regular oyster style bracelets, but it somehow works very well with this watch.

I am overall very happy with it and I don't regret going Citizen over Seiko GS in this case. Maybe I'll grab another The Citizen in time.

I can't wait to see which The Citizen the OP chose. :)

In my book, the paper dial is such a cool feature it´s hard not to like. The blue is super nice, but will it be too much in the long run? 2t, dont like it at all I´m a fraid... 4020-03A brings a bit of sportyness with the crown guards, have you looked at 4020-03E with the black paper dial?

Hey guys, I'm about to pull the trigger on the white version of the washi dial after stalking it for a year. Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on Sakura vs. Higuchi vs. Seiya. They're all close enough on price that I'm happy to go with whoever is the better seller. Be grateful for any advice you might have.

I've only purchased from Seiya (Seiko SpringDrive), but was very satisfied with price, shipping and level of communications.

Fwiw, I wound up buying from a private seller here on WUS. Fantastic experience and the Chronomaster is really something to behold. The level of finishing really is *this close* to GS. Everything about the watch just sings.
