    Longines Conquest V.H.P Accuracy?

For anyone that has the newest addition of the Longines Conquest V.H.P...has the accuracy been at the claimed +/- 5 seconds a year? I believe this came out about a year ago.

Have you considered doing some reading; it should tell you most of what you're after:

People should first search this forum for answers, before posting.

Doesn't even require a search this time, the VHP thread is at the top of the stack.....

To be fair, it's about a million pages of waffle with a few accuracy facts in the middle.

More importantly, how does it achieve that accuracy without thermocompensation?

Pixie dust and goat entrails while a shaman recites incantations. How ETA uses it all exactly is of course a trade secret.

I think (and hope) the OP will think twice before asking further questions without doing some very basic research.

It is my observation, that in general, people would rather post a question versus doing searches to find answers. This is not confined to HAQ.

Yep, it's actually a lot worse on other forums, not only on WUS.

In one auto forum I frequent it's a lot worse, I often answer these dumb questions with "you will find the answer on page xxx in the owner's manual". I think it gets the point across but at times I want to answer "if you had half a brain you left-handed orangutan open that book the manufacturer put in the glove box and just RTFM". The damned thing is also offered in PDF form so it's easy to do a search too.

Best part? These types often sign up, swoop in to ask one idiotic question as their first post then you never heard from them again. Don't get me started....

I would say it's too soon to tell as they have only recently started appearing in the wild. Accuracy and second hand hitting the markers are the perennial questions but the sample base is limited. I intend to wait a year or so to confirm the accuracy, and pick-up a used one cheap.

Yes, the thread is long if you haven't been following it from the beginning. It would be good to see a separate thread detailing the user's experience wrt quality and accuracy, and, of course, where they bought it cheap. As the technology becomes better known we will see 'new' HAQ fans arriving who will appreciate a specific users' thread.

BTW, I was pleasantly surprised to see the new VHP on tv at the beginning of the Commonwealth Games on Australian TV (Longines is a sponsor). They lauded the smart crown and 5secs. Was it shown in the UK, or other esteemed members of the Commonwealth?
