    new (?) Chronomasters?

AQ4030. Paper dials, one in white, one in black.

    https://citizen.jp/the-citizen/index.html

The texture on the black dial, at least from the mediocre shots Citizen always seems to use, looks to be practically invisible from even typical watch-reading distance.

That'd be ok, but what I don't like is it's OVER-lumed, looks like. The indices are big and fat to give good lume, but...they're FAT. Not a fan of the overall composition.

I very much like the look. Hands appear proportionate to my eyes relative to dial and lume is always appreciated imo.

Very fly watch. I have to say the current Chronomasters are beating out Grand Seiko. If cal 0100 production models drop with this type of finishing for 2019 Basel, that will be game changer.

I know they say 'new', but they have been up there a while. I considered mentioning them a couple of weeks back when someone asked for dressy HAQ suggestions, but I went with the AQ4020 as my suggestion due to the lume on the AQ4030.

You'd better not let us down.

I was checking them out in August. I don't know how long they had been out. I was drawn to the screw-down crown feature (vs the AQ4020).

Hmmmm, I hope they will come out with a GMT Eco-Drive Chronomaster soon. :)

After the watching the Russian review on youtube of the black version. I do not like the short second hand, might get the AQ4020-54Y instead as the short second hand is less obvious on this model but no lume.

I see what you mean about the seconds hand, and about the fat hands and indicies. I had an AQ1000 66A and found it quite subtle both in hands and indicies. These new ones, whilst being over a lovely dial, seem a touch cartoonish to me. Love the addition of lume but the indicies are too long and the hands too fat for my taste. That might also be because they are mostly flat, with just a slight taper and polish on the edges rather than a more pronounced polished angled section. I just bought a SBGV 245 Grand Seiko instead, but was seriously considering the new Chronomaster till I saw that video.
