I've been on the lookout for a used example of the ivory dialed 009 GS for about three years now. I've come across silver dialed ones, white dialed ones, pattern dialed ones... every one except the 009. This week - a convergence of things has landed an embarrassment if riches on my desk.

This one's "traditional" HEQ through and through.

I like how demure high end Seikos are.

Alot of people considered Rolex to be the "standard" high end watches.

But if you don't do any research you would never know Seiko makes expensive watches that also keep "better" time.

It's got a nice 50s or 60s feel to it with contemporary materials and a 9F61, contemporary classic. I'll be able to join in on the accuracy challenges now.

This one is the least expensive of Seiko's GS line and it says a lot about the manufacturer - the strap, buckle, case and dial detailing is every bit as good as the rest of the range.

I'll get a proper photo shoot done some time this week.

This model has, I think, been in Seiko's product line since the reintroduction of the Grand Seiko line. Its classic looks have aged well.

The cream dial gives it a warmth that the other colours don't have. Ittook a long time to get this one and that makes it all the nicer.
