What to do with my Exceed E510-h31071

    Hello Everyone,

I do not know what to do with this watch. I have this Exceed that never was on specs. I sent it to CITIZEN Canada once, and I received a message that the watch was sent to Japan, since it was a JDM. After 4 month and I received the watch back and it was behaving exactly the same. It is currently doing 29 spy. I like the watch but I am afraid that sending it again to Citizen Canada will have the same result as before. I am not sure they really sent it to Japan

What do you think I should do

    - Send it directly to Citizen Japan?
    - Is it posible to send it to Seiya Japan for a fee, to forward it to Citizen?
    - No bother and forget about it?
    - Any other option?

    Your help is appreciated?

    Thanks,

    Miguel

Is it under warranty? Is there a Citizen boutique nearby? Whom did you buy it from?

My E510 was running at about 12 or 14 SPY (it was a while back and I have forgotten the exact number). Anyway, it was off the 10 SPY spec so my local Citizen service centre helped me to send it back to Japan for rate regulation. Many months later it returned with a brand new rate: -70 SPY.

I also sent an A010 back for rate regulation and that one came back completely unchanged.

These two cases (my only two experiences of sending HAQs back to Citizen Japan) have led me to seriously question whether owning a Citizen HAQ is worth the investment. I don't doubt that they can regulate these movements if they say that they can, but the difficulty involved in getting them to do so properly may outweigh my reserves of patience.

I had to argue with Citizen service people about rate measurement methods and whilst they finally, grudgingly agreed that I had a point, I don't think it actually sunk in with whatever fool of a technician they had operate on my watches.

    Hi,

The exact model is in description, if you google it you can
find entries about this discontinued model. I bought it some years ago. Here is a photo of the model (it is not my particular one but it is the model)

You could try a master watch maker that lists Citizen as one of the models they repair or service. In NY, names like Ron Gordon under Citizen Watch Repair pop up. I have to say I never used them, just tossing out an option.

Thank you for all the suggestion. This is why, instead of buying a The Citizen, I went the Longines VHP, and Certina routes. The Service Center in Montreal proved to be very reliable (at least for mechanical movements) so I'd rather have a easily serviceable watch with people I can talk about.

    Thanks,

    Miguel
