With the new Jazzmaster Thinline Automatic collection, Hamilton offers you the opportunity to create a timepiece tailored to suit your individual style. With four different colored dials and a range of additional refined leather straps to choose from, you can create a watch that reflects the real you.

The clean, streamlined appearance of the Jazzmaster Thinline with its 40mm polished stainless steel case underlines the refined style and quality the Jazzmaster range is known for.

There are four different curved, sunray dials and strap color combinations to choose from. The slate gray dial contrasts with the cherry leather strap, midnight blue is offset by tan leather; bronze dial and black leather offer a classic look and the white champagne dial is paired with an olive green strap.

Once you’ve chosen your ideal dial, it becomes all about customization. All of the other leather straps are available separately so you can change them to suit your mood.

Whether you want your strap to match with other accessories, to create a greater contrast with your chosen outfit or just to change up your look, there’s something to suit even the most discerning dresser.

The EasyClick system means the soft calf leather straps can be removed and replaced in a matter of seconds without the need for tools or worry about losing pins.
This is the first time Hamilton has created additional straps for a customizable look for one of our watches. The Jazzmaster Thinline Automatic was designed for men who appreciate fine tailoring.

With a color combination that’s uniquely you, you’ll feel at your best getting ready for a business meeting, after-work dinner, or when putting on your wedding suit for the most important day of your life.

    I
just bought a jazzmaster day / date from a member on here! This new one looks great too. I love the brown strap. The brown on the slate grey really pops.

Interesting they're going 2892 rather than Powermatic Si.

Could also wish they'd gone 38 or 39, but 40's not at all surprising.

Interesting, what's the thickness of it?

You've made your feelings about the Powermatic very clear...generally for no good reason IMO, but hey, no big. There's no shortage of choices.

But I wasn't making a statement about which might be better or worse. The Powermatic line is completely replacing the 2824, I believe, in the Swatch Group brands, and the Si is being used in places where a 2892 is also in use...the last couple iterations of the Mido Baroncelli split between them. The base Powermatic is pretty clearly the entry-level successor to the 2824, with clearly marketable advantages allowing the Swatch brands to be perceived as better/superior. The 2892 has been the top mass-production movement. Swatch was forced to produce it for others...and Sellita has a clone of it. That means Swatch needs a group-only successor. The Powermatic Si? Maybe, but it might also be an intermediate step.

Still...the fact that they're dropping a 2892 into a sub-$500 piece is interesting. One interpretation...we know they have excess stock, or at least did as of a couple years ago. Swatch bitched and whined about how many movements they were forced to make, if you recall. So, this might be their way to reduce excess inventory as they phase the 2892 out. And if they do have a 2892 successor with the technical advantages of the Powermatic incorporated...it's to their advantage to knock the gloss off the 2892 as a prestige movement.

40 mm is a good size for a gun, not a watch!

.40 cal maybe, but 40 mm? Are you packing a Bofors?

For my 6.5" wrists 40 mm is right at my sweet-spot...for watches.
