A new trend is making an expressive colour statement on the wrist

Although blue still calls the tune in the watch world for chromatic experiments beyond the scope of ever-popular black and white, a new trend toward green dials is beginning to become apparent. With green watches, the watch brands also reflect one of the leading hues in the Pantone Color Institute’s “Fashion Color Trend Report” for the spring of 2018. As a globally acknowledged authority on colours, Pantone has welcomed arcadia as a new tone. Here’s a selection of the latest offerings at Baselworld 2018.

    Omega Seamaster Olympic Games Collection

The Seamaster Olympic Games Collection celebrates a long-standing partnership: Omega has served as official timekeeper for the Olympic Games on 27 occasions since 1932. Now Omega is launching a Seamaster series in the colours of the Olympic rings: alongside trendy green, the hues include black, yellow, blue and red. Self-winding Master Chronometer Calibre 8800 ticks inside this watch’s stainless steel case.

Chopard Mille Miglia Racing Colours British Racing Green

Chopard is presenting a new collection of five watches to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its partnership with the Mille Miglia rally. The Mille Miglia Racing Colours is a re-release of a historic Chopard collection with unique dials for gentlemen drivers and collectors. One of the models is styled in authentic British Racing Green.

    Corum Heritage La Grande Vie

“La Grande Vie” is an appropriate name for the new collection in this Swiss brand’s Heritage line, which celebrates fine understatement in expressive colour schemes. Thanks to the fumé style, the gradation of colours on the dial of this two-handed mechanical watch becomes progressively more intense as it approaches the periphery.

    Glashütte Original Sixties Panorama Date

This limited edition of the popular Sixties retro collection is absolutely up to date with a green tone that brightens the dégradé dial, which is fabricated in Glashütte Original’s own dial manufactory. The exquisite dégradé decor creates a transition from a lighter shade of green in the dial’s centre to a darker nuance along the cambered periphery of the dial, which is styled in this line’s characteristic manner.
