Citizen Eco Drive VITRO BL 2000-57L

Recently i bought a Citizen EcoDrive BL2000-57L. I think it is a concept watch, which is very hard to find information on the net.
I got it because i had seen it in the same jewelry shop since 2000-2002, like an stranded puppy.
The only information i have this is a watch made as a project called VITRO. It uses a transparent piece o silica crystals (6 microns each). It captures light, unlike regular Eco Drive Layers, made of traslucent material
Citizen dropped this project until 2008-2009, until Citizen Design Studio revamped as VITRO , keeping its essence but with a different design and radio controlled. Price and release date?? To Be Determined.
It has been difficult for to find further information about this watch.
    It works fine.
Despite its look this is a VERY heavy watch. Made of stainless steel, but looks like titanium. Sapphire Crystal.

This must be a VERY RARE WATCH. i have not found references or reviews.
Please, any information about this watch will be appreciated
I will post better photos ASAP. I posted them just to show they were not taken form other website, and to get feedback with any member of this forum.

Backside of watch. Flat Sapphire crystal, unlike front, that is a little bit convex. Note that caseback is not engraved like most of citizen watches; i think it is because metal bezel is very thin. Engrave is located in the case, surrounding the crystal. Do not get fooled,Citizen Eco Drive is not in caseback but inside watch. Name: citizen vitro 12.jpg

Citizen Watch Vitro next to my everyday watch, Casio Beside Sapphire. Note the difference between the crystals. Citizen Crystal Vitro is slightly curved but the inner solar glass reduces crystal brightness, making it look like thicker. Good to refer, there are different configuration crystals into this watch .Opposite, Casio glass is flat .

    Hello Steve
I bought a watch like this one in August 2001. As far as I remember, there are two versions of the vitro watch. There is a stainless steel version which has a blue clock face; and there is a titanium version which has got a silver/grey clock face. I liked the silver/grey one a little more and bought it … here you can find a photo of this version:
    CITIZEN Eco-Drive VITRO

I really like this watch and never found a watch as impressive as this one again …
Unfortunately, the watch doesn't work any more. I guess the solar cells do not work any more. And as the whole mechanical system has been put into a box of glass, I think it cannot be repaired.
Perhaps I should let a specialist try to do his best

I hope I could be of help.
    Best regards

    Heinz

    Regards Heinz
I have also been thinking about it. This watch I saw it the first time in 2002 in the same jewelry where I bought it. I initially thought the same about the durability of the glass, but I inform the crystal amorphous silicon fiber does not expire. I have the Citizen Corp reports in 2001-2002 indicating that this technology would be applied in the future as an ecologic alternative. Unfortunately, this was not fulfilled.

The watch is not encapsulated within the glass, what is certain is that the machinery can not be pulled inside by being connected directly to the glass.
What if it catches my attention is that there are several versions of this watch, I know one.

The clock face coloring varies according to the incidence of light. I shall put some photos about it.
Thanks for responding. Pity that your watch does not work, mine still works ... see How long does
