The beauty of Bronze is that it gradually acquires a dark hue with age. Eventually it becomes virtually black
Given a choice between a PVD coating and steel I would prefer steel
So many of these dial colours are lovely. I could go with any except perhaps the brown and the one to its left
I think my favourites would be the pale blue top, 3rd from right and I like the pale green bottom right
Although I do like the deep green bottom second from right, it is too close to the Alpinist
Interestingly a lot of people would like to see an Alpinist with a blue dial
I love the Alpinist but its too expensive for me.
I like Russian watches so for me this is an interesting alternative.

    Back Home and registered.
I hope the Basic Compass idea will make it through.

I would also like to add my voice to the "we prefer real bronze, not pvd" camp... The chances that the pvd case will look dated in time is high in my opinion.
    Thanks!

I would also prefer solid bronze, but it has to be established first if that is a possibility
If so how would it impact on price and how many members would be willing to stump up the extra moola
As has been said before if a TiCN (not standard PVD!) coating was used it would be plenty resilient enough for a lifetime of watch use and would give the look of bronze without the oxidisation discoloration that some like but others dislike.

I don`t like PVD either, it gives metal a kind of cheap finish. it`s just not the real thing and it shows. for the cost of all these extra`s, I`d rather add a sapphire crystal to an RVS case. just my two cents ;)

Would the TiCN look like the old finish on some of the Komandirskie cases? I'm not familiar with modern use of it, but on those older cases it always looks like faux gold plate to me.
I am no expert though so obviously willing to listen to any experts out there.

Prefer a blue, red or orange dial and a stainless steel case. But, I am open to seeing pictures of other possibilities. However, not sure PVD works for this project. Bronze....maybe.
