Well, when you put WUS logo in the center of the back, how does that differ from "to dear Ivan Ivanovich"?

And anyway, souvenir is just O'k for me :)
I would even suggest that this watch became as much souvenir as possible...

Maybe even put "СТАЛЬНЫЕ" somewhere on the face, not on the back. For example, "СТАЛЬНЫЕ 55Б"
Than, to emphasize that it's steel, put "нержавеющая сталь" on the back...

Therefore I think 'Stainless Steel' (or the more old school 'All Steel') is appropriate.
It will not be correct if we write cyrillic on front side and western on back

Logo is logo. Many breds put different pictures on watch backs.
But "Stainless steel" is technical information

In that case the WUS logo should be in Cyrillic too ;)

    Its a logo, not writing.
    Logos have no language

That's right. But not a mixture of cyrillic on one side and latin on other. Mixture is bad.

    P.S.
Going in deep, TechnoChas is not Russian, it's Belorus company.
Yet russian and belorussian are both "state official" languages in Belarus, when I've been there a week ago, all street signs are belorussian (which I as being russian native, don't understand, except simplest). All "official" texting is belorussian (for example -- instructions for parking payment are belorussian and english, so I did read english).
It would be even more fun to print everything in belorussian. But that will not comprize soviet nostalgia of Electronikas, of course.

H-mmm... what I see in this thread, it's not just boring technical info. Steel is "The Message".
This project is all around "first and perhaps the only all stainless steel good ol' Electronika 55 following dusty soviet blueprints from 80s"

Could we get that to fit on the case back? (joking)

Re: Elektronika project general discussion thread

I dont think "first steel case" is inaccurate.
We're not referring to elektronikas in general, we're talking about a specific model (the 55), and that model is mentioned in the same caseback.
I'd stick with "first steel case"
It's short enough, it conveys the desired message.
