It is not really attractive enough for that option.

WOW! $30 with SS case is certainly a bonus!
I have taken a look at the WR test pics and it's quite good. Bear in mind that rated a 1 atm WR, the test they endure is much harsher, because it's the same watch subject to:
1.- WR test (look at the water jet it falls in the worst way for a watch wr-test, I mean, it is aimed directly to the watches'weakest point). The water jet is pointed at the closures, o ring and pushers, ready to penetrate through them
2.- If that was not enough, just dry them a little with a tissue and vibration plus temperature test.
3.- Changes in ambient temperature are not keen to watches, they produce condensation an can be lethal to electronics.
So having endured this test I could even venture to use my elektronika in daily use except for swimming.
(I took an omega speedy with snap on back case swimming at the sea for 3 years with no condensation). Yes I know it should not be done, but passed with flying colours.
To sum up, I think the latest news (SS case) is a bonus and very welcome. I'm in, and if the LED +SS comes again in a near future, I'm in as well

Well, no “open-heart” battery ticker I know of has been really done since a historic Bulova Accutron. To those saying quartz have no soul, show their guts!

    I have two questions:

    1. Is the newly prototyped steel case only compatible with the 52,53,54,55 modules?
    2. Are these modules available with reversed display?

I've listened to the melodies of module 77A and find it odd to have american folk songs. Would be really welcome to have "katyusha" and ancient russian and belarussian folk songs instead, but don't know if that is asking too much

We MIGHT ask, the 77A has american folk songs as it was a copy of the Hong Kong Montana...appreciate the name of the watch.

The 5X and 0X family have other five tunes, relatively short, but a little more serious...today I woke up with Beethoven's fur Elise.
    ??????? ? ????? ? ????????

    They are also very loud.

Interesting, I didn't know all the different tones included with these modules.
I remember hearing "Oh! Susanna" and "Oh! My Darling Clementine" a lot when I was younger.

One of these modules needs this excerpt from the Russian national anthem...brings me back to playing Call of Duty 4 and why I have the song memorized
