I tried on the old DataTime a couple of days ago. The display was a double-vision blur. I'm not about to start wearing my reading glasses all the time just to look at my watch, so I guess that it won't get much use any more.

I just thought that I should reinforce that point for the benefit of anybody else in the early stages of long-sightedness who may be attracted to the LED option.
Methinks you should give a try to an analog watch, some day. If you stick to digital, try a smartphone, or iPad if it worsens...

You might be onto something. My mechanical digitals are getting hard to read, too.

These two are probably the perfect expression of the Technical design direction in the context of a Watchuseek project.

Just one thin stripe, or a few? Not very nice on the eyes

For me it screams "I'm a frickin' watch nerd!"

I realize that some people don't care much, but some are strongly opposed. I've never really understood why somebody would want to participate in a collaborative design exercise but want to obscure the identity of the community that designed it, as if it is embarrassing.
I like watches that are aesthetically pleasing, the WUS logo or branding (in English) on the dial of a watch just doesn't do it for me.

I heart my project Ratnik and that guy isn't heavily branded, so I think it's possible that a successful project can be bought to life without the logo being so obvious.

Try this one. The case (crate?) has a great presence on the wrist.

Mate, if it quacks like a duck...

If somebody gets curious about the watch on my wrist today, they might ask what the 'W' brand is. I'll tell them it is a project for an on-line forum. They'll think "you're a frickin' watch nerd!"

If I'm wearing an Elektronika and somebody gets curious about the brand and the foreign text, I'll tell them it's a Belarussian watch. Same result.

...or they'll ask if I have family over there. And I'll say, "No, I'm a frickin' watch nerd."

Good for you. You asked my reasons and I gave them, my opinion is all that matters to me. I never asked for you to justify why you want the W logo on it, that's irrelevant to me.
