An interesing point to consider. How might the design of this watch successfully cross over between an interest in Russian/Belarussian/Soviet horological heritage and a general interest in digital watches? I would not like the design to go completely international-generic for the sake of attracting subscribers from other forums, but it would be great if it was more than just curiosity fit for this rather odd bunch of enthusiasts.

There is a question that is sure to crop up sooner on any project for this forum, so I'll ask it now:

Who will make the module for an LCD watch?
Who will make the module for an LED watch?

Once again our Watchuseek Digital forum delivers the goods on how stuff works It seems like there are a few affordable options available to Technochas to enhance their product if they are to take over module assembly from Integral. I am very interested to find out what they might be willing to develop. And I'm sure that many here would be keen to support them in that. On the other hand, I don't think that a project needs to be dependent on the promise of new development.

    1) My understanding is that at the moment Integral is making these modules but Technochas will soon start making them in house.
    2) My understanding (Surok55 has gone missing) is that for the LED watch the module will be the same as point 1 but the LED will be "modern" (like the Garlach), this is his original email on the matter:

Now i've read again about Gerlach Kosmonauta LEDs (as think you mentioned it as "Polish") -- yes, it is possible make something like it, with "wide" segments on indicator. But it is impossible (or very-very difficult and expensive) to make LED watch with thin lines on the indicator, like on Electronika-1 or western vintage LEDs. It was entirely different construction of the display.

The more I think about this thing the more I'm interested in it. I've wanted a F-91W for a while, but this may just fill that niche instead - especially now that I've temporarily sated my lust for mechanicals.

I might've missed it earlier in the thread, but can anything be done with the back cover, e.g. engraving?

I personally think the 91 is overrated, I much prefer the JDM 84W as it is the last Casio with the original octagonal case from the 80s (see picture), of course the style is quite similar to an Electronika from the same era.

For the caseback we are waiting for Technochas to answer what they can do, if we are going to get a snap in case or a WR screwback.
