January 2014 produced 240007 case/face with custom Boris Mittglied bezel (well done piece that is not quite up to Murphy bezel quality IMO) and blue 'planet ocean' look alike (who needs liquid metal?) insert with 18mm shark mesh, standard 2416B automatic 31 jewel movement - just need someone to build and sell 'plongeur' hands in a lovely orange for it - and its ready for a Cousteau film and is as close to an Omega Seamaster as my budget will allow. Nothing but respect for Omega - but Vostok is excellent value and runs easily within 10- 15 seconds a day.
June 2014 produced 240335 case/face with custom Dale Murphy bezel and semi Pepsi Seiko bezel insert on a cheap but loved twist o flex that has a design that seems destined to go with Dave Murphy's excellent quality gnurled coin edge. Maybe I will put it on an 18mm Jubilee at some point? Also swapped out a Kommandirskie 2414A 17 jewel wind up movement (with Kommandirskie 'sword' hands) as its hard to keep two automatics running at same time - and variety is the spice of life and this particular 2414A is wicked accurate within 5-10 seconds a day and can take mistreatment (has been drowned at least twice as original Kommandirskie donor case was not terribly water proof) - indeed a little tiny AK-47. Hence said little movement though termed as 'agricultural' by some - deserves the display case back from Munich.
Want to get a white faced dial Kommandirskie in coming months to see what can be done with it ... am really impressed with how much modding can be done by even a novice at a price point that makes any other European watch insanely expensive as well as their dependability.
