Neat! I might hafta get me one of them!

How much does such a timepiece run? New production, I assume - tourist market kind of watch?? Is the movement decent - halfway reliable??

I like it. I'd like to have a couple of very Russian-looking watches...

I almost forgot that I actually HAVE one of these...:) Bought it on Ebay a few years ago for about $30US brand new, I don't think prices have really gone up, so you should be able to pick one up for about the same price. I've noticed that there are two variants, one is the older model without the "Made in Russia" markings in Cyrillic, which uses a decent quality Raketa movement... the newer one with the "Made in Russia" marking, ironically, uses a Chinese movement! :)

It looks like a new production. I paid $15 for this (on eBay). It keeps good time.

It is having Raketa 2609 HA movement with Raketa symbol and "SU" mark.

Re: Raketa with Hammer and Sickle hands

One of my Raketa red dial hammer and sickle watches has "made in Russia" printed in Russian but strangely when I open it the movement is a 2614H with an SU mark on it too. So made in "Russia" but with a "Soviet" movement ??

The watch itself is pretty accurate and never lets me down over the past 2 years, I like it a lot - despite the contradiction of the face and movement.

This particular hammer and sickly model has the hands in a "goldy" colour, whereas my other hammer and sickly is very obviously yellow. (not shown)

Hands of this watch are in gold colour and also have wheat (?) stem style seconds hand.
