Recently a patek set a world record at auction, the watch was described as a 3 dial watch, I just want to know what is a 3 dial watch.
Is it one watch with 3 different dials that you can interchange manually? or is it something else
In order to change the dial out, you'd have to take the watch apart, remove the hands and dial, replace dial, then set the hands again. I did this to my Seiko 6309 last night for the first time, and it was time consuming to say the least.
That reference 3974 has three interchangeable dials in three different tones. You have to manually change the dials (or have someone/Patek do it for you).
It also set a record for that particular reference from Patek.
Thanks for the info ScooterNB, but is that what they means by a 3 dial watch or are they referring to the chronographs?
